Cookie policy

Last updated 6 July 2026 · Version 1.0

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We keep our use of them to a minimum. This policy explains which cookies LocalGov AI sets and how you can control them, in line with the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR.

1. Essential cookies

These are required for the site to function and to remember your cookie choice. They do not track you and are always on — you cannot switch them off.

2. Optional analytics cookies

With your consent, we set privacy-respecting analytics cookies to understand — in aggregate and anonymously — which frameworks councils use most, so we can prioritise our volunteer effort. These are only set after you choose "Accept all" in the cookie banner, and never before.

3. Cookies we set

Name Type Purpose Expiry
lga-cookie-consent Essential Remembers your cookie choice 12 months
_lga_analytics Optional Anonymised, aggregate usage stats 13 months

4. Managing your choice

You can change or withdraw consent at any time. Use the button below to reset your preference — the cookie banner will appear again on your next visit. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though essential cookies are needed for the site to work.
